How DayGuide Helps People with ADHD

October 2026

Some people say "I'll remember" — and then you don't

You set a reminder to take your meds at 8. It pings, you swipe it away because you're in the middle of something, and suddenly it's lunchtime. If you have ADHD, you know this story by heart.

The problem isn't that you don't care. ADHD makes it hard to feel time passing (time blindness), hard to get started on a task (task initiation), and easy for anything out of sight to fall out of mind. Most reminder apps assume one notification is enough. For an ADHD brain, it rarely is.

DayGuide is a reminder and daily planner app built around how ADHD actually works. It doesn't give up after one ping, and it never makes you feel bad for needing more than one.

How DayGuide helps

Reminders that follow up. If you swipe a reminder away without finishing, DayGuide nudges you again, gently at first, then more firmly. You choose how persistent it is: Gentle (3 nudges), Normal (5) or Strict (6). You can mark something done straight from the notification, so you don't need to open the app.

Time windows, not deadlines. Instead of "8:00 sharp," you can set "between 8 and 9." That's a lot less pressure, and it fits real life better than a single alarm.

One tap when you're running late. Overslept or got pulled into something? Push your whole day back in one tap instead of rescheduling every task by hand.

Only what matters right now. DayGuide shows you the next thing to do, not an endless list that's overwhelming just to look at.

A focus timer that keeps you company. Starting is often the hardest part. The focus timer gives you a set block of time and a sense of someone being there while you work.

Routines, medication and events in one place. Set up repeating routines once and let DayGuide carry them for you, day after day.

Optional voice. DayGuide can read a reminder out loud when you open it, which helps if text on a screen tends to slide past you.

Built to be kind, not to nag

Many people with ADHD have a long history of feeling like they've "failed" at being organised. A planner that piles on red marks and harsh alarms only makes that worse, and then the app gets deleted.

DayGuide takes the opposite approach. A missed task is marked "slipped," never "failed." Your history and stats celebrate progress, not perfection. Reminders escalate only as far as you allow. The whole app is designed to be calm, so opening it feels like help rather than judgement.

Your reminders stay on your phone, and there are no ads.

Give it a try

DayGuide is available on Android through Google Play.

If "I forgot again" is a sentence you say too often, give DayGuide a week. It might just turn into "I've got this."
